About the Department

Biotechnology is the use of living organisms, biological systems, or their components to develop products and technologies for specific purposes. This multidisciplinary field combines biology, chemistry, and engineering to create useful innovations in areas like medicine, agriculture, and industry, and can include both ancient practices and modern techniques. Since its inception, the Department has contributed a lot in terms of teaching, learning and research. We have a team of faculties who contributes much to the development of the potentials of students. Department enhances the knowledge base of students and creates research curiosity among students generating highly skilled human resource. The autonomy brings into force industry and research oriented syllabus and hour based curriculum helps the students to excel their knowledge towards innovate, incubate ideas and nurture the needs of society.

The labs are well equipped with PCR, Gel Documentation system, Flame Photometers, Horizontal & Vertical Laminar Airflow Chambers, Spectrophotometer, Electrophoresis apparatus, Cooling & Clinical Centrifuges, Incubators, Hot Air Oven, Shaking Incubator, Deep Freezer, UV Transilluminator, and other essential instruments for molecular biology workflows.
